i love tbs' "snow showers"--i recently found out that tbs is also used as the abbreviation for taking back sunday, so i mean trembling blue stars, with the former singer of the field mice.

the standells remind me of the pixies--they sing in spanish and sometimes the singer sounds a little like frank black. it's fifties/sixties rock, though, and there are no songs about the ocean or incest, mostly ones about girls.

i'm staying up all night so i can get out of the house. i'll only go for walks when no one else is awake. ah, i just remembered it's a school day, so that's out.

i applied for a job at movie gallery. free rentals. it carries very few old movies, mostly new releases. they're selling them off for shelf space. movies from the nineties.

i've been watching ghost world over and over again. i didn't like it at first--maybe it was the ending, because seymour/steve buscemi was great and i enjoyed the rest of the movie, so i didn't want to see the main character sort of abandon their world--but now i really, really like it. maybe it's because i'm bored. and i agree with nearly everything seymour and enid say.

i'm painting my room again, this time with this square thing that is really for corners and edges. it's so much better than squeezing the paint out of a roller (both when painting and cleaning up) or picking bristles out of the paint and the brushstrokes being visible.

i'm just posting links here now. sealing_wax is from the walrus and the carpenter part of alice in wonderland (or whichever book it was). maybe it was even just the movie.

i've decided to vote (if i do vote) out of spite. goodbye, bush. then goodbye, kerry. and whoever comes next. our state always goes for the republican candidate or whomever is most conservative, so my vote will just be countered by thousands and thousands of votes for the other candidate.

i started keeping a paper diary again. i write in it as little as possible.
